The last week of February and the first week of March include lots of rainbow activities. This theme is a fun way to work on color recognition skills through playful learning ideas.

This page shows some ideas that I will be considering when planning our circle times and centers time.

Rainbow Pom Pom Sorting – Placing a matching colored pom pom on each circle of the rainbow page. (From our St. Patrick’s Day Packet.)
Rainbow Strip Matching (From our St. Patrick’s Day Packet.)
Lego Brick Matching – Place colored paper bricks on a tray along with real Lego bricks. Match by color. (From our Rainbow Props Packet.)
Color Ten Frame Activity – for Preschoolers (From our Preschool Colors Activity Packet)
Sorting Items By Color – Use these with objects that are the same color. Invite your children to sort the objects and place them on the. matching colors. (Freebie) (Freebie)

Circle Time

Lego Brick Matching – Have the labeled set in the middle of the circle and give each child one of the non-labeled colored bricks. Have each child place their brick on top of or underneath the matching colored brick that is in the middle of the circle. (From our Rainbow Props Packet.)
Crayon Color Matching – Have the labeled set in the middle of the circle and give each child one of the non-labeled crayons. Have each child place their crayon on top of or underneath the matching colored crayon that is in the middle of the circle. (From our Rainbow Props Packet.)
