Inside: Young children love to keep moving, so we kept that in mind while creating these art ideas for busy kids!

We’ve all had busy kids in our classroom.

They want to move, move, move!

So we created a collection of art ideas that have larger motions, perfect for those with lots of energy.

Super Fun Art Ideas for Busy Kids

Dinosaur Stamping – Walk big dinosaurs into paint and then onto paper.

Paper Tube Painting – Use the arm to move paper tubes up and down in paint.

Sensory Art in a Bag – Use hands to pat, pat, pat the bag and move around the paint mixture.

Spin Art – Work the upper body while making the salad spinner move paint on paper.

Golf Ball Painting – Tip containers back and forth to leave paint tracks.

Car Painting – Drive cars through paint, making roads on big sheets of paper.

Painting with Spools – Lots of stamping takes place with this busy art activity.

Paint on Foil – Use cotton swabs or hands!

Splat Painting – This gravity activity involves dropping paint from a distance.

Scrub Painting – Cover the table with paper and scrub paint on top using brushes.

Block Stamping – Use big motions while stamping your favorite blocks from paint onto paper.

Marble Painting – Push marbles with paint inside a bag.

Paint with Corks – Stamp painted corks onto paper making big movements.

Roll Paint – Use the entire arm to roll paint onto bubble wrap, making prints.

Water Bomb Art – Work on sensory, gross motor, and coordination with this baseball themed activity. (Steam Powered Family)

Spray Bottle Painting – Have fun spraying paint onto paper. (Early Learning Ideas)

Slinky Painting – Ditch the paintbrushes and use slinkies and paint on big sheets of paper. (Fantastic Fun and Learning)

Ramp Painting – Make a rainbow while rolling paint down ramps. (Fantastic Fun and Learning)

Snap Painting – Snap paint from rubber bands onto paper. (Crazy Life with Littles)

Comb Painting – Explore textures, colors, and patterns while pulling a comb through paint. (Learn With Play At Home)
