I love learning what my students are interested in and finding activities that include them. It makes it so much more meaningful! My toddlers this year love Lego Duplos. To the point that if we don’t have them available, they ask for them. So it was fun to put together an easy toddler art activity using Legos.
I mean, super easy.
I simply covered our art table with paper, removed the chairs, and let them move while having fun rolling Lego cars through paint.

Easy Toddler Art Activity Using Legos
We found all of our Lego Duplo pieces that had wheels so our toddlers could push them through the paint.
We then covered our art table with a long sheet of paper and squirted different colors of paint on the paper, spread out in different areas of the paper.
When our toddlers arrive, we immediately start our free choice centers time. Everything is set up, including the art table.
So it took them no time to walk up to the table and start pushing the Legos around.
As they pushed the Legos through one puddle of paint, and then another, and then another, colors started mixing.
And then, they connected the Legos to make a train. Because they LOVE trains.
And the trains started moving through all the paint puddles. These toddlers were engrossed in this activity for quite awhile. And that’s saying a lot because toddlers have a short attention span.
This activity also gets toddlers working with each other. They are learning to maneuver around each other, paying attention to personal space.
This is how it looked when they were finished:
This is what toddlers love! Please let me know if you’ve tried it!
