Snowflake Printable Circle Time Props
During the first two weeks of January, our themes are snowflakes and snowmen.
Last week I created some cute snowman props. (If you missed it, head on over and get the link to the free printable.)
Then, while planning our activities, I found some fun snowflake books and songs and knew I needed props for them.
Here they are!
Assembling the Snowflake Printable Circle Time Props
What you will need:
- Popsicle sticks or Jumbo Craft Sticks
- Laminator
- Scotch tape
- Printable snowflake prop (scroll down to find the link)
I suggest either printing these on heavy paper or laminating them for extra durability.
Make enough copies so that you have one snowflakes for each student and yourself.
Preparation:
Cut out the desired amount of snowflakes and gather your popsicle or jumbo craft sticks. After cutting them out, tape them to the top of a popsicle stick.
Using the Printable Snowflake Props
I make enough snowflake sticks so that each child has one, plus an extra for myself.
We hold these props while I read snowflake books, recite snowflake rhymes, and sing snowflake songs.
The children can then move their snowflake props while you sing or read.
Using Snowflake Printable Circle Time Props for Virtual Teaching
I’ve found that props are even more important when teaching through a screen.
You can see how I use them in my online video snippets which are on my virtual teaching resource page.
I send my props home in a take-home packet that each child gets every two weeks.
When the meeting starts, we hold our props. In this case, they are our snowflake sticks.
We then hold them while singing snowflake songs and reading snowflake books.
