Inside: This easy angel craft is made from pegs and doilies and can be used as ornaments on the Christmas tree. They are a nice keepsake for years to come!

December is busy with making Christmas ornaments!

Some favorites are our simple snowflake ornaments and our gingerbread ornaments ….oh, and our fillable ornaments.

This year we put together an easy angel craft that can be turned into a keepsake ornament – and I love how they turned out!

I don’t know about you, but as a parent I cherish every homemade ornament our 3 children made.

They are all in their 20s now, and every December when I open our box of ornaments, those made by our children are most special.

I hope my preschool families cherish these for many years, too!

What we used:

  • Wooden clothespins (dolly pegs)
  • Paper doilies
  • Glitter snow
  • Raffia
  • Yarn

Setting it all up:

I like to get all the materials ready before we call children over to the art table.  Since there were 2 steps to this angel ornament, we did it on 2 different days.

How to create your angel ornaments:

Use the non-dominant hand to hold the peg and the dominant hand to hold the paintbrush. Brush glitter snow on dolly peg and let thoroughly dry.

Once dry, cut a small piece of yarn for each angel and create a loop. Glue it to the top of the peg.

Cut the doilies in half and glue one to the back of the painted doll peg.

Cut raffia into small pieces and glue to top of peg for hair.

Let them dry and they are ready to hang on the tree!
