Inside: This collection of jingle bells activities are a perfect companion to your holiday theme, plus they strengthen fine motor skills!
There is something about jingle bells during Christmas that is so festive! Yes, they can be used as an instrument while moving and singing to music.
But how about some Christmas Fine Motor Fun with jingle bells?
We have a variety of sizes from teeny tiny ones (not for toddlers or those who still put things into their mouths) to jumbo bells that barely fit in the palm of small hands.
I thought I’d share a few ways we use jingle bells with our fine motor activities.
Jingle Bells Activities for Kids {that Strengthen Fine Motor Skills}
I confess that I have a love for jingle bells.
Perhaps it’s from my childhood love for Christmas, when we’d ring them to music.
I’ve carried that love into our toddler and preschool classroom, where I enjoy putting together a variety of activities that involve jingle bells.
- Jingle bells
- Magnets
- Tongs
- Ice cube trays
- Paint trays
Using large jingle bells:
Large jingle bells are fun to hold in the palms of the hands.
Fingers have to wrap around them to stay in place. They are also our safest choice with our 2 year olds.
Smaller jingle bells:
We love using smaller jingle bells with magnets on our science shelf.
We’ve also used them with our (free) candy cane printable, using our upper bodies to move the container back and forth.
