If you’ve been following along on my blog, you know how much I love to do name activities in preschool. Preschoolers love to see their names everywhere, and will point it out each time. Learning the letters in our names is a big part of our literacy curriculum. When putting together name activities, I make sure they are hands-on, fun, and enjoyable. As they begin to recognize their own names, they then move on to recognizing their classmate’s names, too. When they are ready to start writing, they usually want to begin with the letters they are most familiar with – those in their names. Here are 12 activities that expose preschoolers to name recognition.
