Inside: This Put the Apples on the Apple Tree free printable can be done in a variety of ways, and used for independent or small group activities!
I’ve created a free printable that you can use with your preschoolers during the apple theme: Put the apples on the tree!
And there are different ways you can do this, and you might come up with even more than I share here.

Put The Apples on the Tree Free Printable
Before we use this printable, we like to do some apple activities such as:
- Apple Colors Collage Art
- Apples and Playdough
- Apple Color Sorting
- Way Up High in the Apple Tree Circle Time Activity
Then, it’s time to use the printable! Here are some ideas:
Do-a-Dot Markers
We love using Do-a-Dot markers with our preschoolers for fine motor strength and creativity! This can be an independent or small group activity.
Supplies:
- Printable (Scroll towards bottom of this page for pdf)
- Green, yellow and red Do-a-Dots
Instructions:
- Press dot markers on the tree.
Circle Stickers
This can be an independent or small group activity.
I love using circle stickers with young preschoolers who are just learning how to use stickers.
Supplies:
- Printable
- Green, yellow and red circle stickers (or just red, if that’s all you have)
Instructions:
- Remove stickers from backing and press onto the tree.
Apple Stickers
This can be an independent, small group, or journal activity. (Our three year old teachers glue the printable onto a page in the children’s journals.)
Supplies:
- Printable
- Apple Stickers
Instructions:
- How many apples are on your tree? Press the apples on the printable tree.
Wine Cork Painting
This can be done at the art table or during small groups.
Supplies:
- Printable
- Wine corks
- Red, green and/or yellow tempera paint
Instructions:
- Provide wine corks and small containers of red paint.
- Press the cork into the paint and then onto the printed tree.
Pom Pom Transfer
This is a fine motor activity that can be done as independent work at the table.
Supplies:
- Printable
- Red pom poms (you can also add green and yellow)
- Tweezers
Instructions:
- Place the printable on a tray along with a small container of pom poms and tweezers.
- Use tweezers to transfer pom poms (apples) onto the printed tree.
Writing Table
Place multiple copies of the printable at the table along with red, yellow and green crayons or markers.
