Preschoolers love to go on hunts! We’ve done it many times, in different ways, such as with our Lego color hunt activity. During our rainbow summer camp, we combined some art with our color hunt. We first had the children paint large pieces of paper the colors of the rainbow, and once it dried, they went on a color hunt and placed the objects on the matching color. This preschool color sorting activity was fun because it got the children involved in creating the activity, and then going on the hunt.
What you will need for this activity:
Now for the color hunt!
Place the colored poster boards in the room and invite your preschoolers to go on a color hunt. As they find objects that are one of the colors of the rainbow, they place it on that color.
In the end, we learned we had more blue objects than anything else.
And then it was time to put everything away.
