Inside: Do you have some leftover bubble wrap? Turn it into a fun toddler fall art activity!
Gather some brayers, bubble wrap and paint, and you are ready for some easy toddler art for fall.
One of my favorite tools for painting with toddlers is the brayer. It allows toddlers to use their entire arm (and shoulder) as they roll the brayer back and forth.
This is a wonderful way to strengthen fine motor development! Having them roll paint on bubble wrap adds a sensory experience, as the brayer has to move over the bumps.
Pressing paper onto the painted bubble wrap is another sensory experience. And when they peel away the paper to see the results?
That is the best part! It’s no wonder this is one of our favorite process art activities. It really can be done during any season. Just change the colors!
How to Use Bubble Wrap for a Fun Toddler Fall Art Activity
Before we share the activity, I’d like to share the benefits of process art:
- No right or wrong way
- The focus is on exploring
- There are no specific instructions
They truly could be happy just doing this.
But I loved that one of the children paused to press the bubbles. Another sensory experience! And who does not like to pop the bubbles in bubble wrap?
Once the children have covered the bubble wrap, you can show them how to press paper on the top of it. I chose orange paper for the fall season.
When they lift the paper and see the print? Always priceless.
Simple fun that can be done any season!
