Inside: Toddlers and preschoolers will love to practice shapes with these fun printable cards!
We love working on shape recognition in every day, in a variety of ways.
Even while out on a walk you can encourage your children to notice shapes in landscape, buildings, and vehicles.
Indoors you can have shape scavenger hunts, sing shape songs, and even have fun with some shapes art.
But if you are looking for a quiet table activity, you will love using these printables to practice shapes.
Can be adapted for toddlers and preschoolers!
Practice Shapes With These Fun Matching Cards

Toddlers
For toddlers, keep this super easy.
Cut apart each card and start with just 1 shape.
Place the square card with the text on the table and hand them the matching square card without the text.
Show them how the shape is the same, tell them the name of the shape, and ask them to place their card on top of the one on the table.
Then, do this with the circle and the triangle, since these are usually easier to recognize than the other shapes.
Eventually place all 3 of the shapes with the text on the table and place the matching shapes in a container beside them.
Invite your toddler to take a card out of the container and pair it with the matching card on the table.
Preschoolers
Keep 1 page intact while separating the cards on the other page.
Put the whole sheet on the table and place the separated cards in a container beside it.
Invite your child to pick a card from the container and place it on top of the matching shape.
