Matching Hearts Valentine Color Sorting Printable
What you will need:

Assembling this activity:
After downloading the pdf, make two copies.
Keep 1 page intact and cut apart the second page so you have individual cards.
Independent play:
Place the full sheet of hearts on the table and put the individual hearts in a bowl.
As each card is pulled from the bowl it is placed on top of the matching colored heart.
You can also add velcro to make the hearts stick.
Simply put the loop side of the velcro on one piece and the hook on the other.
Press the separated hearts on top of the sheet of hearts, matching them by color.
Circle time or small groups:
Gather your children and place the full sheet in front of you, so all the children can easily see them.
Hand each child one of the individual cards and, one by one, invite them to place their hearts on top of the matching colored hearts.
Circle time props:
After copying on heavy paper (and laminating, if desired), tape to a popsicle stick.
As you hold up each heart, ask the children what color it is.
Use as a memory game:
Cut apart the cards from both sheets, so that you have some hearts with text and some without.
Place all the cards face-down on the table.
Flip over a card and then flip over another card to see if they are the same color. If so, they have a match and the cards can be placed in a pile off to the side.
Continue doing this until all the cards have been matched by color.
Color sorting game:
Find small objects – such as buttons and pom poms – that are the same colors as the hearts.
Place them in a container beside the sheet of hearts.
As each object is pulled from the container, place it on top of the matching-colored heart.
