These leaf cards, when cut apart, offer toddlers and preschoolers a chance to recognize colors while bringing the 2 cards together to make 1 entire leaf!

Leaf Color Matching Printable Cards {that Work on Symmetry}

What you will need:

Leaf symmetry printable (scroll down towards bottom of page to find it)

Setting up this activity:

First, make copies of the leaf symmetry cards and cut along the dotted line.

Place all the cards on a table, mixing them up.

Having fun with this activity:

Hand the child 1 half of a leaf.

What color is it?

Invite them to then find the other half.

Show them how to match the left and right sides so that the vertical dotted line is in the middle.

Now they’ve put together 1 whole leaf!

Do this with the other colors, until all the halves have been matched and there are whole leaves.

When and where can this activity be done?

These can be done at the activity table during centers time or with small groups, or right at the kitchen table at home.
