We love stocking stuffers, but with younger kids it can be a challenge to find items that aren’t candy or cheap plastic toys that will break.

What are good preschool stocking stuffers that they will use and love? Obviously, being an early childhood educator, I prefer toys that are educational.

Those that  foster creativity, strengthen fine motor skills, can be used at home or on the go, and can grow with the child.

This collection of stocking stuffers includes all of those and can be used long after the Christmas decorations are put away.

Washable Markers

We love washable markers because they wash off skin easily. And yes, markers do end up on skin! (And sometimes tabletops and walls, too.)

Matching Games

Matching games are a fun way to build memory skills. They also teach young children about playing with others and taking turns.

Egg Shakers

These little percussion instruments fit nicely in young children’s hands. Use while singing or listening to music.

Wikki Stix
