Fall Playdough Math Activity {Printable Cards}
What you will need:
- Fall playdough counting mats printable (scroll down page to find download)
- Playdough
- Laminate the pages or slip them into protective sleeves.
How to use:
Place as many cards as desired on a table. For toddlers and younger preschoolers, consider only using 1-3 or 1-5 and add more pages as they are ready.
Show your children how to roll the playdough into small balls, placing them on the black circles.
Invite them to count as they are placing the balls on the circles, comparing it to the number on the card.
Then, count the number of leaves on the page. Notice that they are the same.
They can also make “snakes” out of the playdough, placing it on top of the number that is on each card.
Modifications:
Pom Poms:
Place a pom pom on each circle in the numbers.
This is a great way to work on counting skills!
Dot Markers:
Laminate if this will be reused.
Press a dot marker on the circles in each number.
Buttons:
Use buttons the same as you’d use the pom poms.
Invited your child to count the number of black circles on the page, count out that same number of buttons, and then place one button on top of each black circle.
