Contact paper is one of the most useful craft supplies for the classroom.

It is your best friend for creating all sorts of suncatchers and fun collages.

However, there are actually a lot of color learning and fine motor activities that can be done using contact paper in addition to these beautiful art activities.

These contact paper activities will motivate you to introduce all sorts of new learning activities with sticky paper!

Contact Paper Activities for Toddlers and Preschoolers

Ladybug Suncatcher – Utilize clear plastic lids and red tissue paper to create adorable ladybug suncatchers.

No-Mess Window Collage – Provide various shapes of tissue paper and other craft supplies for a colorful window collage without glue.

Rainbow Suncatchers – Toddlers will press all of the colors of the rainbow onto contact paper for a modern-art-style rainbow.

Color Sorting – Hang contact paper on the wall with color labels for toddlers to sort pieces of paper onto the wall by color. (Days With Grey)

Rainbow Building – Draw a rainbow outline onto contact paper for preschoolers to stick pieces of paper onto the correct color placements. (Mama Papa Bubba)

Tree Decorating – Preschoolers will stick leaves onto the outline of a tree, creating a realistic colorful tree. (Minne Mama)

Vertical Block Building – Provide a bin of lightweight blocks for block building on the wall instead of the ground. (Little Moments to Embrace)

Tissue Paper Kite – Toddlers will arrange pieces of colorful tissue paper onto kite outlines for a fun window decoration. (Kinder Craze)

Flower Constructing – Separate flowers by piece and have preschoolers re-construct the flowers onto contact paper so that each one has a stem, leaf, and petals. (Teach Preschool)

Nature Suncatchers – Collect nature materials from outdoors to arrange onto the contact paper, creating a beautiful nature collage. (Hands On As We Grow)

Create a Face – Hang contact paper on an easel with the outline of a head for toddlers to create a face using craft materials. (No Time for Flash Cards)

Shape Sorting – Toddlers will sort the foam/paper pieces into the shape outlines drawn behind the contact paper. (Modern Preschool)

Ribbon Jellyfish – Cut contact paper into a half circle to stick pieces of ribbon onto, creating a colorful jellyfish. (Juggling With Kids)

Fishbowl Craft – Cut a fishbowl shape out of contact paper for preschoolers to decorate with grass, water, and of course a fish. (4 Crazy Kings)

Itsy Bitsy Spider Web – Use the border of a paper plate, contact paper, and yarn to make a spider web. (Play Teach Repeat)
