Thanksgiving Turkey Printable
We love printable activities that can be used in a number of ways.
This Thanksgiving turkey activity can be used during circle time, small groups, and for independent work during centers time.
It can be combined with glue for a fun fine motor activity.
Circle Time
Make one copy of the turkey and enough copies of the features so that each child gets at least one.
Set the turkey in the middle of the circle and tell the children that it needs feathers.
Invite each child, one by one, to walk up and put their feather on the turkey, telling you what color it is.
Do this until each child has placed at least one feather on it.

Flannel board activity:
This printable can easily be adapted to be used on a flannel board.
Simply place velcro tabs to the backs of each piece so that they will stick.
(We suggest using heavy paper when printing out the turkey pieces or laminating.)
For younger children:
To make this a bit easier, glue the feathers on the turkey before circle time.
Then, make more copies of the feathers and give each toddler one feather.
Invite them to place their feather on top of the turkey’s matching colored feather.
Table Activity #1
After making a copy of the turkey and the feathers, cut them out.
Place the feathers in a container on a table along with the turkey.
Invite your children to place the feathers on the turkey, calling out each color while doing so.
Table Activity #2
This activity only uses the feathers.
Make 2 copies of the feathers, leaving one whole and cutting out the feathers from the other page.
Place the loose feathers in a container on the table along with the whole page of feathers.
Invite your children to take the loose feathers out of the container, placing them on top of the matching colored feathers on the whole sheet.
Fine Motor Activity
You will need one set for each child participating.
Cut the feathers from the sheet and place them on a tray along with the turkey.
Add a container of white glue and a brush.
Invite your children to glue the feathers onto the turkey.
Note: Older preschoolers with good scissor skills can cut the feathers from the sheet by themselves.
