Inside: Work on pre-writing and pre-reading skills with this popsicle left-to-right printable activity.
Learning how to move from left to right helps with both reading and writing.
In this activity, preschoolers learn how to place the writing tool on the picture to the left, following the line across the page to the right.
Popsicle Left-to-Right Printable Activity
- Grab the free popsicle prewriting printables. The link to the pdf download is towards the bottom of this post.
- Each page has 3 cards.
- Cut on the lines to separate the cards.
If you choose to reuse them, laminate the cards and use with a dry erase marker.
Place the cards on a tray or table along with a writing tool.
Invite your preschoolers to place the tip of the writing tool on the popsicle to the left, tracing the line or curve across the page to the right.
Where to Use These Prewriting Cards
In our classroom, we like to use these at our writing center.
However, they can also be used as a table activity during centers time, or as a teacher directed activity during small groups.
At home, these would work well as a quiet activity at the kitchen table.
