Inside: This free English and Spanish color sorting printable activity is a fun way to build skills with toddlers and preschoolers. Can be adapted for different learning levels!
We’ve been having fun with a variety of color recognition activities lately, all over our classroom.
We put together a flower sorting station in our block area, made a rainbow collage, and even drove cars through different colors of paint (always a hit!).
While thinking of different ideas during centers time, I decided to create a simple color sorting activity that we could do at the table.
There are a few different ways to do this activity, as I will share below.
Bonus! I’ve also added Spanish color sheets! Everything is in one packet to make downloading and printing easier.

English and Spanish Color Sorting Printable Activity
Simple Color Matching
For the first activity, you will need to cut apart the color pages and the objects.
Place the objects beside the tray and invite your children to place the objects on the matching colored pages.
Modification: Rather than using the printed objects, invite your children to go on a color hunt around the room.
As they find small red, blue, yellow and green objects, they place them on the matching colored page.
Matching Objects
If you want to turn this into a matching game, you will only need to use the page with the objects.
Make two copies.
Keep one copy intact and separate the other copy so that you have 8 individual squares.
Invite your children to place the individual squares on top of the matching object.
