What you will need:
- Popcorn kernels
- Food coloring (we use this kind)
- Husks from dried corn
- Tan card stock paper
How to dye corn kernels:
Place desired amount of corn kernels into a small zip lock bag, one bag for each color you are going to use. Add desired amount of food coloring, starting with small amount and adding more color until you are satisfied. Place a small amount of rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer into the bag and zip it closed. Knead the bag really well, evenly distributing the color. I used to remove the kernels at that point, but realized you will get a deeper color if you let them sit in the bag overnight. Leave bag open so they can dry.
