Then, select what shapes you want to work on and invite your toddlers and preschoolers to fill in each dot.
This free shapes printable activity can be used in your classroom’s writing area or at home at the kitchen table.

You know that stash of pom poms that are in your art cart? They are great for other activities, too, such as this one.
Children can use their thumb and fingers to pinch the pom poms and place them inside the dots.
If you’d like a bit more of a fine motor challenge, have them transfer the pom poms using tweezers.
Another favorite art supply that can be used with this activity: buttons!
This set is one of our favorites because they are vibrant and a bit larger than other buttons.
Plus, look how nicely they fit in those dots!
However, you can use any buttons you already have on hand, even if they are smaller.
Dot markers are a favorite in our classroom!
We use them at the writing table, for art, and even on the easel.
They, of course, work great with any dot printable such as this shapes activity.
