Push the brushes aside, because we have discovered a love for painting with rolling pins in our preschool class! I love how something that is so simple to set up can create so much fun! Plus, it’s a great way to reuse that bubble wrap, such as when we painted directly on that fun-to-touch packaging. In our preschool classroom, we try to use as many recyclables as possible, and items that we already have on hand. I’m sure we are not alone. That goes for doing activities at home, too!

My co-teacher saw an idea similar to this activity on Mess For Less. She measured our rolling pins and cut the bubble wrap to fit, taping the wrap to the pin.
.
.
She then poured rainbow colors on trays and set the rolling pins on top.

The bubble wrap was too delightful to touch, and so our toddlers and preschoolers started rolling the pin by the base rather than the handles.
.
.
And then, for some children, the hands left the rolling pin altogether and instead started moving paint around on the paper.

I really love this idea especially cause it can be used as messy play. But if need be is there a way to use this idea according to a theme?
