Do your preschoolers love the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom as much as ours? When I put together this preschool Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activity, I wanted to mix some art with literacy.
After reading the book, we made our own letter trees using stamps. Activities such as this are a fun way to add some literacy to artwork, building letter recognition skills.

Our after-school enrichment program is excited to be part of the Virtual Book Club for Kids, Each month we will be focusing on a specific author, reading books that author has written and organizing crafts and activities relating to these books. September’s author is Bill Martin, Jr. Our after-school enrichment teachers chose one book to work with this month, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.

Preschool Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Activity
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom has always been one of our favorite books. We introduced the book by first reading it and then viewing the animated version on You Tube.
I copied a tree template onto colored paper and cut the shapes out. (Older preschoolers can cut their own out.) The children glued the tree onto a sheet of paper.
Letters were then stamped on and around the tree, wherever the children wished to place them.
“The C is falling out of the tree!”
