Preschool Teddy Bear Day

Every January we have a preschool teddy bear day. The children bring their stuffed teddy bears to school, we have our bear cave, and make hot cocoa. Prior to this event, we’ve read books and have talked about hibernation. When our teddy bears come into the classroom, we tuck them into their caves while we enjoy bear songs and hot cocoa.

Stuffed animals are important to most preschoolers. Bringing them to preschool is very special! Even though we have the cave for their stuffed animals to sleep in, some of the children don’t want to part with them. They want their special stuffed friends to see what they do throughout the morning.

  2. Ah, that’s what I miss about Winter…Hot Cocoa and marshmallows! Hot Australian summer at the moment, we’re drinking lime soda and bitters :)

  3. I love these! What a great segue-way into learning about hibernation too!
